The BHP Copper Co's Robinson Project in Ely, Nevada. The works are
claimed to be the world's largest re-mining operation. I'll go along
with that. The Liberty pit, shown here, is huge, and the tailings
spread out for miles and miles.

These are some serious cranes, or actually 'Electric Rope Shovels'.
Each scoop contains 30 cubic meters of ore-rishous goodness. Big brother
keeps an eye on the dump trucks via GPS monitors.

An old rail line along which the concentrated ore is hauled away. BHP
projects a yearly production of 142 million pounds of copper, 92,000
ounces of gold and a cool 343,000 ounces of silver.
