Joshua Tree National Park
In April of 1996, I ventured out to Joshua Tree. Although we could
see the snow in Big Bear, it was stinkin' hot. Funny thing about the
desert.
Joshua Tree is a great place to see the desert largely unspoiled by
vehicles, mining operations and strip malls.
Most places within the Monument are easily reached by car or short hikes.
The Geology Tour requires high clearance. Going off into the BLM lands
isn't generally wise without 4-WD and equipment to deal with getting stuck
in deep sand.
